Waiting
by Trixie Asirvatham
I've been told that waiting is good for the soul,
I've been told that waiting will teach me control…
And I agree that somehow it makes some sense to me
But right now, waiting is hard as can be
I've been told I won't just get one job, I'll get three
And I believed that it was a possibility
But right now I'll settle for one job that's right for me
For right now, waiting is hard as can be.
Chorus.
I want one job, right now,
not tomorrow,
One job - right now
Can you hear me, Jesus?
One job, right now,
One job that's right for me.
I've been thinking that God has a purpose, in all of life's goals
Whether it's "Stop", "Go' or "Wait", the signals are in His control
Maybe I needed to be taken down a peg or two
And take the time to focus on life's important issues.
I've got to work for a living - life's not a free lunch
But more than that, it's job satisfaction I want so much
I think of all those jobless people knocking at doors
Scanning papers, attending interviews by the score.
I need one job right now-Part-time or
One job right now --- Full time or
One job right now---Consultancy
One job right now -Emergency
One job that's right for me.
Come to think of it, I don't want one job, I want more…
For Rishi, for Madhu, for Ramesh and Vidya and Sheila,
And don't forget the humble writer of this song,
Please God, don't keep us waiting for too long.
I want one job, right now
Don't keep me waiting, Lord,
One job, right now,
Please be with me, Lord
One job, right now
Please guide me Lord
One job that's right for me.
O can you hear me Lord?
O won't you lead me, Lord?
O won't you guide me Lord?
