Make the Most of What You've Got

I wrote this song to the tune of a popular song to get my teenage daughter out of the blues and 'blahs'. I think it helped -- at least it made her laugh after a week of sulks and long faces. It works for me too!

When you're feeling rotten, when you're down and out
Don't dig further in the deep, you gotta shake yourself out
You've got what it takes to clamber up again
Just believe in yourself and you're sure gonna win!

Chorus: Boom shaka laka, make the most of what you've got
Boom shakalaka, God has given you a lot
You've got grit and determination too
You've got talent that's waitin' to be used!

There's a lot to do, so go out and do it now
There's no time to waste feeling sorry and low
What's done is done and cannot be undone
But tomorrow's another day, so meet it on the run!
